What good is the warmth of summer, without the cold of winter to give it sweetness.
― John Steinback
Excerpt from my diary:
This morning I awoke to this―the bitter return of winter!
A large ice storm had pummeled our city bringing spring to an abrupt halt.
I found these words of John Steinback’s swirling in my head like the unwelcomed snow in my yard.
With a sinister grin, I smirked at Ol’ Man Winter through my frosted windowpane and muttered under my breath…
“Your unleashed fury upon us this weekend will only make the returning warmth of spring (summer) that much sweeter!!”
